Are these people for real?

timetravellingbunnySo I occasionally stumbled onto this video on Youtube, since it was under 'related videos' to some videos about feminism. www.youtube.com/watch This is a woman ranting about feminism and "male disposability" - i.e. the "women and children first" mentality. The thing is, I agree with her on a lot of things, in that I despise the "women and children first" mentality, I despise the idea that women should be protected more (both because I hate the idea that men's lives are less worth and the idea that women are weaker and belong to the same category as children). But the problem is, she's blaming feminism, of all things, for that - not the patriarchal gender roles, even though she admits that these views have existed for centuries - far before feminism even existed, and that the origin of those ideas are patriarchal gender roles that deem men strong and capable while women are weak and helpless. Which I told her in my comment. The other big mistake is that she's talking about this mentality as universal, ignoring the fact that chivalry is a Western concept, and that there are many examples of societies that value men's lives much higher and treat women's lives as disposable. And then at some point in the video, she actually talks about female genital mutilation as if it's the same thing as male circumcision. Yeah, that's right.
But if you make the mistake of pointing those things out, you'll soon learn that the comments section is a den of the whiny, entitled, self-centered misogynists who feel that they're terribly oppressed by women/feminists, who'll come after you, calling you a cunt and telling you that you hate men. (You don't hate feminism = you hate men.) It's not that I haven't met lots of sexist people, but this is still new to me.
Well since you are for equality please awser some simple questions.
1*How do you feel about the divorce? that is, do you think a man should pay a woman after she leaves him because she is used to a certain lifestyle?
2*How about rape shield laws that prevent men from geting the evidence to prove them innocent?
3*Or about woman on man violence ? That is a man hits a woman she hits him back , the man goes to jail, a woman hits a man he hits her back, the man goes to jail.
Poor guys, left without the right to prove that they couldn't have raped a woman because she's a well known slut. My heart is bleeding for them.
No one is saying that female circumcision isn't a bad thing. All we are saying is that male circumcision on minors that is no indication of treatment is a bad thing. The problem is that males do not complain as much as females do.
See, it's all because the women complain so much. the whiny bunch.
ok just a couple of things. one, woman in western society need to stop complaining about feminism or whatever because they do have equal rights, in other words; shut up. secondly woman need to stop referring to history as argument of equal rights because its not valid. in compassionate it would be equal for a African american to say he deserves compensation in 2012 because in history his ancestors were used as slaves. it is refreshing to see a woman call out the flaws in feminism.
But you've seen nothing yet - these 2 comments take the cake.
Then why did Feminism take away my right to a fair trial? Why did Feminism take away my equal education and give preference to girls? Why did Feminism decide that domestic violence is a problem only women suffer from? Why did Feminism decide that if I get a woman pregnant I have no rights over that child? Why did Feminism glorify single motherhood but ensure that men would always have to pay child support even if they were raped?
No, lady, it is you who is ignorant. That is far from equality.

Feminists have not "successfully" campaigned for gender equality. The problem is that there never was gender inequality, just gender asymmetry. Each gender had its respective role, each with its advantages and disadvantages. Feminism has given us this perception that history has consisted of men being "above" women and women being "below" men. The expectation to die for your country, die for all women, work your whole life to support your family, and not complain at all is not a "privilege".
I'm just wondering - are these people for real? I'd like to think it's just someone's clever satire, but no, they seem real. And that's really depressing in what it says about the human race.
